Important dates:

Picture Day is Friday of this week. 

Next Monday I will send home grade reports with each student to be signed, so that parents and guardians can see how their children are succeeding.

Next Tues/ Wed, I will be in training, so the students will have a substitute teacher. 

Next Thursday is Open House.  Please come and join us from 6-8 pm!

Next Friday is our first school dance from 4-6pm in the cafeteria.

Eighth graders, your homework is to write a reflection paragraph (75 words or more) about what we’ve done this week in class.

It’s so simple! Here’s how it works:
1. SIGN UP at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. 

On the parent page, click the “Register” button in the “First Time
Here?” section. Register for your own user name and password.

2. When prompted, enter the one-time Class Activation Code: HFLJ2 . This unique code ensures that your order is sent to me.
3. SELECT the books you’d like to order — choose from thousands of titles — many more than in our monthly flyers.
4. SEND your order to me online by the due date and your child’s books will be delivered directly to my classroom.
Ordering online is fast, easy, and secure.
Of course, you can still order using the form from the printed flyer. If you would like to do this, simply fill out the back of the flyer and send it to school with your check.  I will submit it as part of our class’s order.

For this week, our homework will be simple.
ALL Students: complete paperwork and return it to school as soon as possible, please

7th graders: Journal #1 due Friday [you can see the list of journals if you click the link at the top of the website]. Also, please bring in your folder by Friday.

8th graders: Response writing #1 due Friday [you can see the guidelines for this by clicking on the link at the top of the website]. Also, please bring in your notebook and your folder by Friday.

If we happen to have a storm day on Friday, then the homework will be due on our next day back in class.

Here you will be able to easily find all of your resources for our Language Arts class, including: homework assignments, test reviews, additional reading suggestions, and helpful hints.

Students, have you ever had this experience?  You understood the lesson when the teacher taught it, but then you got home and did not remember how to do the homework?  Well, now you have a place to turn.  You can submit a comment at the bottom on the page (along with your period number, please), and Miss Peloso will do her best to help you before our next class.

 Just a quick reminder about ettiquette.  Since this is a school site, please remember that we will follow our classroom guidelines for respect here.  Also, please show me your best spelling, grammar, and punctuation in your comments.
